Red Light Therapy
What is it? This Little Light of Mine.......
Red Light Therapy is a Promoter of Healthy Skin Cells - inside and out. This helps regulate the rate at which cells reproduce, allowing the body to restore a natural cycle of skin cell replacement. It is often used in clinics, physical therapy practices and in hospitals to heal bones, damaged skin tissue and diabetic wounds.
When NASA determined that red light could grow plants in space, Marshall Space Flight Center awarded contracts to investigate the effectiveness of the broad-spectrum diodes in medical applications, focusing on increasing energy inside human cells. It was NASA’s hope that red light would not only yield medical benefits on Earth, but that it would help to stem the loss of bone and muscle mass in astronauts, which occurs during long periods of weightlessness. (In space, the lack of gravity keeps human cells from growing naturally). Furthermore, since wounds are slow to heal in a microgravity environment, red light therapy has been proven to accelerate healing. Red Light Therapy is for all skin types, conditions and colors.
Red Light Therapy works at a cellular level and promotes the following:
~ Helps reduce fine lines, wrinkles, crepey skin
~ Helps in healing acne, rosacea, scarring
~ Stimulates hair growth
~ Helps reduce inflammation
~ Increases collagen production
* Collagen makes up about 30% of the body's protein, supporting skin and connective tissue. It gives structure, helps fibroblasts in the dermis (the deeper skin layer), helps new cells to grow, and also helps blood to clot.
~ Improves circulation
~ Helps with pain
~ Promotes better sleep
~ Speeds up healing of bones and muscles
